Gareth S. Hataye, O.D.

Dr. Gareth Hataye attended the University of Hawaii from 1978 to 1982. He received his B.S. degree in 1983 from Pacific University, and his O.D. degree in 1986 from Pacific University College of Optometry. He began his professional career in Hawaii, and then Oregon before moving to the state of Minnesota in 1988, where he and his wife, Dr. Alaina Softing-Hataye has called home for the past 18 years. In his free time, he enjoys basketball, cycling and an array of other outdoor activities. It's sometimes difficult coordinating those activities with daughter Sydney, a ninth grader and an avid figure skater, and daughter Selena, an eighth grader and competitive gymnast, along with band, piano and related church activities.

Dr. Hataye most enjoys the benefits of private practice in allowing him to provide the most comprehensive vision and medical care to his patients. Offering the most innovative and quality ophthalmic products available and every conceivable contact lens, along with affordable options to meet every need is a big plus. It also allows for patient input and suggestions into practice without delays.

Alaina L. Softing-Hataye, O.D.

Dr. Alaina Softing-Hataye received her B.S.degree in 1983 from North Dakota State University. She received her O.D. degree in 1988 from Pacific University College of Optometry. She began her professional career in Duluth and Virginia, Minnesota in 1988, and moved to Austin, Minnesota with her husband and children in 1994. In her free time, she enjoys old movies, playing the piano, spending time with family, and her two children, Sydney, 14 and Selena, 13. It's sometimes difficult coordinating those activities with daughter Sydney, a ninth grader and an avid figure skater, and daughter Selena, an eighth grader and competitive gymnast, along with band, piano and related church activities.

Dr. Softing-Hataye most enjoys the flexibility that private practice offers by balancing professional practice with a busy family life.

Tena

Tena has lived in Austin all of her life. She Attended Austin High School, and Riverland Community College, Rochester, MN and received a Medical Clerk Typist Certificate. Innovision Eyecare has been her place of employment since April of 2003. Tena is an Optician, Lab and Lens Tech in our Austin location. She has been trained to examine written prescriptions to determine the specifications of lenses. She can recommend the latest and greatest in prescription or non-prescription lenses, lens coatings, frames, sunglasses, and contact lenses. Tena can instruct you in the proper insertion, removal and care of your contacts. Tena and her husband Todd live in Austin along with their 2 kids Carissa 11, and Gavin 6. Todd also has a son Ryan 16 who comes to Austin 6 weeks every year. In Tena's time off you can find her running kids to their activities, shopping for bargains, hanging out with her dogs, and going on family vacations. Carissa is involved in volleyball, tennis, and choir. Gavin enjoys Hockey, soccer, and T-ball. Ryan plays softball through his church in Richmond, VA, and also lives for video games. Tena and her family enjoy family vacation road trips down south to relax on the beach or just going up North to catch a few fish. Judy

Judy has been with Innovision Eyecare for over 7 years. She works at both the Albert Lea and Austin locations to better serve our patients. She can help any patient make the correct frame selection for their facial features. Judy has also been trained to help you select the most current lenses,lens coatings,and warranty options to give you the best quality of vision. She is also experienced in insertion and removal of contact lenses. "My main concern is customer satisfaction in all areas of our practice". Judy was born and raised in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School. She received a degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from Rochester Community College. Judy and her husband Chuck have a son Matthew, and a daughter Kristina,who are both college students. Judy is a member of First Lutheran Church and has been active in teaching Sunday school and church council. She is also a mentor for School District 241 and does volunteer work for the American Cancer Society.

Monty

Monty has been with us for over 10 years. Previous to that, she had 3 additional years of excellence serving eyecare needs. Monty has helped us to incorporate many improvements as we have grown at InnoVision Eyecare. Monty can help you with any of your eyecare needs, including frame and lens selection, contact lens training, questions regarding LASIK (she has had the surgery herself),as well as frame repairs and adjustments. She has an incredible sense of creative style which when combined with her expert knowledge, will leave you speechless regarding your eyewear! What she enjoys most about her position at InnoVision eyecare, is the individually hand selected frames to match the personality and eyewear needs of each and every patient! In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband Todd, son Trent, daughter & son-in-law, Tabitha and Eric, and her NEW granddaughter, Ruby Lou Ellen, whom she'll always have a photo to share.

Mona

Mona has given Innovision Eyecare over 10 years of her expertise. She excels in all areas of our practice and is remarkable in handling the most complex to the most simple optical needs. She had 7 years previous optical experience before joining our team at Innovision and has helped to bring about many positive changes. Her knowledge is endless when it comes to lens styles, frame technology, contact lenses, LASIK surgery options(she has had it done herself), frame repairs and adjustments. Mona is also an Insurance Processing Expert in both of our Albert Lea and Austin locations. What she likes best about working at Innovision Eyecare is the ability to offer our patients quality products that match their individual lifestyle and taking the time give each patient the best patient care in town.

Robin

Innovision Eyecare is happy to have Robin as part of our team. You may see Robin around the office with a friendly smile. Robin is our bookkeeper. She has an A.S. Degree in Business and Accounting as well as an A.A.S. Degree in Business Technology from Riverland Community and Technical College, "I have been in Austin about 10 years. I enjoy my kids and my grandchildren. I like supporting the Mower County Humane Society, bowling and gardening. What I like best about my job is working with a well-trained team of professionals who really care about the people who come in our doors."

Jaqui

Jaqui is the newest member of our team. She comes to us with previous Optical experience, as well as being bilingual in Spanish.
